What experience do I need to become a shift supervisor?+
Typically two or more years in a cafe, QSR, restaurant, hotel or airport-lounge supervisory role, with the confidence to lead a small team through a busy shift. Comfort with POS, billing and basic stock systems is expected, and flexibility across opening, closing, weekend and holiday shifts is part of the job.
Can a service associate become a shift supervisor?+
Yes, and it is the most common route in. Brands generally promote from the floor, because the supervisor has to be trusted by the team they were working alongside the week before. Strong service associates with two years behind them are exactly who these roles are written for.
