Cafe Manager — FAQs
What does a cafe manager do?+
A cafe manager owns the outlet end to end — the profit and loss, the team roster and development, the guest experience standard, inventory and vendors, and food-safety and hygiene compliance. They run the daily operating rhythm and answer for the outlet commercial performance.
What experience do I need to become a cafe manager?+
Typically three or more years running a cafe, QSR, restaurant or lounge outlet including full team ownership, with demonstrable P&L or cost-control responsibility. Working knowledge of POS, inventory and rostering systems is expected, and FSSAI or equivalent food-safety certification is an advantage.
What is the difference between a cafe manager and a shift supervisor?+
A shift supervisor is in charge while their shift is running — deployment, service speed, cash-up and handover. A cafe manager owns the outlet across all shifts, including the P&L, hiring, vendor relationships and compliance. The accountability is the difference, not the seniority of the title.
Which cities are cafe manager opportunities open in?+
