Barista Careers

A barista pulls consistent espresso, textures milk properly and builds a drinks menu to specification — and does it while talking to the guest standing in front of them. The craft is technical and the counter is a stage.

What a Barista / Coffee Master does

Behind the bar of a premium cafe, standing through rotating shifts including early openings — a craft role performed in full view of the guest, where consistency under volume is the whole test.

Preparing espresso, milk-based, brewed and cold beverages to recipe and specification.

Dialling in the grinder and adjusting through the day for dose, yield and taste.

Steaming and texturing milk to standard, and pouring latte art where the brand calls for it.

Keeping the machine, grinder, brew kit and counter clean and calibrated.

Taking orders, describing the menu confidently and suggesting with judgement.

Holding speed and consistency through the morning and evening peaks.

Managing counter stock — beans, milk, syrups, cups — and flagging short supply early.

Barista / Coffee Master — FAQs

What does a barista do?+

A barista prepares espresso, milk-based, brewed and cold beverages to the brand recipe, dials in the grinder through the day, textures milk to standard, maintains the machine and counter, takes orders and looks after guests at the bar — all while holding speed through the peak.

Can freshers get barista jobs?+

Yes. Trained freshers who have completed a barista course are welcome, and many cafes train on the job. What is hard to teach is genuine interest in coffee and comfort talking to guests all day, so those weigh more than years of experience.

Do I need a barista certificate to apply?+

It is not always mandatory, but it helps considerably, particularly for freshers — it shows you understand extraction, grind and ratio before your first shift. Experience behind a bar at a cafe or QSR can substitute for a formal certificate.

What are barista working hours like?+

Rotating shifts, including early openings, since cafes open before most offices do. Weekends and public holidays are normally working days because that is when footfall is highest.

Which cities are barista opportunities open in?+

The current cafe mandate covers Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Bhopal. Applying creates a profile our HR team reviews, so you are also considered as requirements open in other cities.
