Ramp Staff
Airside turnaround work on the apron — marshalling, loading and ground equipment.
You will create an account and attach your CV. Free to apply; placement professional fees of ₹5,000 (incl. GST) apply only if you are selected.
No live seat is open for this role today. Registering puts you on our screened Placement Desk bench, and our HR team contacts you when a matching requirement opens at the airport you pick. Roles with a seat open right now are under live placements.
Ramp staff work under the wing. Between an aircraft arriving on stand and pushing back, everything that happens on the apron — chocks, cones, marshalling, baggage and cargo in and out, ground power, potable water, lavatory service, pushback — is ramp work, and it is timed to the minute.
It is safety-critical and physical. The apron is the most hazardous area of an airport, and the discipline that keeps it safe — FOD checks, equipment clearances, the danger zones around a live engine — is learned properly or not at all.
What you’ll do
- Marshal and guide aircraft on and off stand under a qualified supervisor
- Place and remove chocks, cones and safety equipment to the stand procedure
- Load and unload baggage, cargo and mail to the loading instruction
- Operate ground support equipment — belt loaders, tractors, pushback tugs, GPU
- Carry out FOD (foreign object debris) walks and keep the stand clear
- Connect ground power, air-conditioning and potable water services
- Support pushback and towing operations with headset communication
- Observe danger zones around live engines and moving aircraft at all times
- Report every equipment defect and aircraft damage immediately, without exception
- Meet the turnaround time while never trading safety for schedule
What we’re looking for
- 12th pass; freshers welcome where physically fit
- Physically strong — sustained lifting, bending and outdoor work across a shift
- Safety-first instinct and the confidence to stop an unsafe operation
- Able to work as one unit with a ramp crew under time pressure
- A valid driving licence is an advantage; airside driving permits come later
- Comfortable in high noise, all weather and night operations
Clearances and training
Airport work is regulated. These apply to this role, and we tell you before you start — never after. Where training is employer-arranged, we say so.
- Airport Entry Permit (AEP) with airside/apron access after police verification
- BCAS-approved AVSEC training
- Ramp safety and aircraft-danger-zone certification before working on stand
- Airside Driving Permit (ADP) for any equipment operation — issued by the airport operator
- GSE type-specific training for each machine you are cleared to operate
Shift reality: Rotational 24×7 shifts, outdoors in all weather — monsoon and summer included.
Where we recruit for this
Pick the airport you can realistically travel to every day — shift rosters start before dawn and end after midnight, so the commute decides more than people expect.
