Free Aviation Course with Certificate in India: What You Learn and How to Start

5 min read1 October 2026·By Elite World Group

Curious about airports and airlines but not sure where to begin? Aviation Foundations is a free online course with a free test and certificate. Here is exactly what is in it, and what it does not promise.

Most people who want to work at an airport have never been shown how one actually runs. They know the check-in counter and the boarding gate, and nothing behind them. Aviation Foundations: Your First Step into Aviation is InternAVIA's free online course for exactly that person. This guide tells you what is inside, how the test and certificate work, and what the course does not do.

The course is open now. Free lessons, free test, free certificate.

The short version

  • Price: free. No payment card, no certificate fee, no subscription.
  • Level: beginner. No aviation knowledge needed.
  • Format: fully online, illustrated lessons you read on a phone or a computer. No videos to buffer.
  • Time: about 6 hours of learning effort. You have 30 days from the day you enrol.
  • Who can join: anyone aged 18 or over with basic English reading.
  • Certificate: the InternAVIA Certificate in Aviation Foundations, issued after you pass the final assessment.

What you learn: six modules

Each module has three short lessons and a five-question practice quiz that you can retry as often as you like.

  1. Welcome to Aviation. Aviation as one connected system: the main organisations, what each one does, and how their work fits together to get a flight away safely and on time.
  2. Understand an Airport. A walk through a passenger terminal, the difference between landside and airside, and the departments that keep an airport running all day and night.
  3. Follow the Passenger Journey. From booking to the arrival hall: check-in, security, boarding, connections, arrival and baggage.
  4. Discover Aviation Careers. Passenger services, cabin crew, ground operations, cargo and airport support teams, and the honest routes into each.
  5. Communicate Professionally. The everyday words aviation teams use, and how to speak with passengers clearly and respectfully.
  6. Safety Mindset and Your Next Step. Following procedures, staying within your role, reporting concerns, and making a realistic personal plan.

How the test and the certificate work

The final assessment opens once you have finished every lesson and practice quiz and verified your email. It has 24 multiple-choice questions and a 40-minute clock. You need 18 correct to pass. It is marked the moment you hand it in, so your result is on screen straight away.

If you pass, your certificate is issued immediately. It carries a unique ID and a QR code, and anyone you show it to can check it on InternAVIA's public verification page. If you do not pass the first time, you get 2 free reassessments with a fresh set of questions.

What this course is not

It is worth being clear about this before you spend your time.

  • Introductory aviation knowledge and simulated exercises. Issued by Elite World Services Limited through InternAVIA. Not a licence, rating or qualification, and not recognised or endorsed by DGCA, BCAS, ICAO, IATA, ACI, any airline or any university.
  • Completing this course or holding its certificate does not guarantee a job, an internship, an interview or a place in any programme.
  • It does not replace the training an employer or a regulator requires for a specific role.

What it does give you is a clear picture of how airports and airlines work, the vocabulary to follow an aviation conversation, and a better basis for choosing your next course or role.

Who should take it

  • Students in Class 12, a diploma or a degree who are thinking about aviation.
  • Graduates and working people in other fields who are curious about airport careers.
  • Anyone about to pay for an aviation course who wants to understand the industry first.

How to start

  1. Open the Aviation Foundations course page.
  2. Sign up with your name, email and mobile number. It takes about two minutes.
