Check-in Staff

The first person a passenger meets — check-in, baggage acceptance and boarding passes.

12th pass and above; freshers welcome Rotational shifts

You will create an account and attach your CV. Free to apply; placement professional fees of ₹5,000 (incl. GST) apply only if you are selected.

No live seat is open for this role today. Registering puts you on our screened Placement Desk bench, and our HR team contacts you when a matching requirement opens at the airport you pick. Roles with a seat open right now are under live placements.

Check-in staff open the passenger journey. You verify travel documents, accept and tag baggage, allocate seats, issue boarding passes and resolve the problems that surface at the counter — an expired visa, an overweight bag, a family that wants to sit together, a flight that has just gone technical.

It is a departure-control-systems role as much as a people role: you work the airline’s DCS on a common-use terminal, and accuracy at the counter is what stops a problem becoming an offload at the gate.

What you’ll do

  • Verify passenger identity, travel documents and visa requirements before acceptance
  • Operate airline departure control systems (DCS) on common-use terminal equipment
  • Accept, weigh, tag and route checked baggage, including excess-baggage collection
  • Allocate seats and issue boarding passes, managing special seating requests
  • Identify and flag passengers needing special assistance, unaccompanied minors or medical clearance
  • Handle dangerous-goods questioning at acceptance in line with the carrier’s procedure
  • Manage counter queues and hold the check-in cut-off firmly and courteously
  • Handle disruption at the counter — delays, cancellations, rebooking and reaccommodation
  • Reconcile counter cash and card collections and close the shift correctly
  • Hand over cleanly to the gate team with every open issue named

What we’re looking for

  • 12th pass minimum; a graduate or aviation/hospitality diploma is an advantage
  • Clear spoken English plus Hindi or the local language of the station
  • Comfortable learning airline systems — DCS, CUTE and the airline’s own tools
  • Composure with a queue behind an angry passenger; service recovery is the real skill
  • Well-groomed and uniform-ready, to the airline’s appearance standard
  • Physically able to lift and manoeuvre checked baggage at the counter

Clearances and training

Airport work is regulated. These apply to this role, and we tell you before you start — never after. Where training is employer-arranged, we say so.

  • Airport Entry Permit (AEP) — issued after police verification; a clean record is mandatory
  • BCAS-approved basic AVSEC awareness training before working airside or at acceptance
  • Carrier-specific DCS certification, arranged by the employer during onboarding
  • Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) awareness at the level the role requires

Shift reality: Rotational shifts across a 24×7 roster, including early-morning departures and night banks.

Where we recruit for this

Pick the airport you can realistically travel to every day — shift rosters start before dawn and end after midnight, so the commute decides more than people expect.
